Dr. Bent is founder of the Imagery Institute at St. John’s
University and author of Beyond MS: It’s All in the Image,
in which she described a psychological model for recovery from
multiple sclerosis based on parental images and enactment of imaged
physical activity. Her research interests focus on activated images
of the self, parental filters and anxiety.
Dr. Judith Hochman,

Dr. Hochman is author/editor of five books on
mental imagery, editor of the Journal of Mental Imagery,
and a licensed mental health counselor. Her research interests
focus on mental images of early parent-child interactions in normal
development and their relationship with anxiety and
resiliency.
Dr. Mary Macedonio,
Director, Psychophysiology Lab

Dr. Macedonio is a licensed psychologist with a
strong IT background and specialization in the Institute’s
psychophysiological hardware and software. Her research interests
focus on the effects of virtual reality and mental images of family
interactions on anger, anxiety and depression.
