The Intensive English Program (IEP) at St. John's University
offers a full-time day intensive program of ESL courses, part-time
classes, private classes and special short-term programs for
groups.
Full-Time Day Intensive Classes
- Fourteen-week fall and spring sessions and a five-week summer
session
- Full-time study – 18 hours per week in the Fall and Spring, 20
hours per week in the Summer
- Small classes
- Beginning, intermediate and advanced levels
- Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
- Conversation partners

Fall session - $2,470 plus University fees
Spring session - $2,470 plus University fees
Summer session (5 weeks) - $1,320 plus University fees
The IEP is located on the campus of St. John's University in
Queens, NY. The campus resides on almost 100 acres of beautiful
grounds. The University has extensive recreational, sports, and
dining facilities, as well as playing fields, modern buildings and
a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline. The University’s
location provides easy access to the many cultural, educational,
commercial and religious resources of New York City.

Part-time day ESL/IEP classes
6 hours of instruction a week for 14 weeks. Beginner, intermediate,
advanced levels. Choose one of the following classes:

Tuition
$850 plus fees
Private ESL/IEP classes (Independent
Study)
One professor to one student. 12 hours of instruction
total. Dates and times are arranged by the student and
professor. Day, evening, and weekend hours available. Classes begin
at any time during the semester. Classes are renewable if students
wish to continue. Classes are designed to meet student's needs:
conversation, speaking, pronunciation, accent correction, reading,
writing, business writing, TOEFL preparation. Please call (718)

The IEP welcomes groups interested in studying English for
short-term programs. Special group rates and on-campus housing
available. Open to high school and university students, visiting
