1. Change of Grade:
At times you may need to change the final grade of a student due to
a miscalculation or other unique circumstances. To make a change of
grade:
a. Complete grade-change form, which you may obtain from Mr. Adam
Smith in Bent Hall, Room 273
b. Submit the completed form to Mr. Adam Smith for the ICS
Director’s signature. (This is in place of the Dean’s
signature)
c. The form will be completed by the ICS Office and processed by
the Registrar’s Office.
d. A receipt copy will be sent to you for your records
2. Final Exams: Make-Up Policy:
a.
DNY and Scientific Inquiry Professors bring the make-up exam to Mr.
Adam Smith in Bent Hall, Room 273. It does not matter in which
School/College the student is enrolled. Mr. Smith will collect
from you the necessary material needed.
NOTE: For Staten Island faculty please refer to Dr. Marilyn
Dono-Koulouris at ext. 4106; donokoum@stjohns.edu for
directions on “Change of Grade” and “Make-up Exam” procedures.
b. All DNY and Scientific Inquiry students taking a make-up should
be informed to go to their school dean’s office to complete a
permission form.
c. The completed exam will be submitted to your mailbox for grading
following the makeup testing day.
d.
Undergraduates not exercising the "pass/fail" option who miss their
final examinations are assigned the mark of ABF. This mark
counts in the GPA as an F
3. Photocopying:
The Institute for Core Studies does not have a large enough staff
to provide photocopying service. However, paper and a copy machine
is available to all ICS faculty in Bent Hall, Room 337-340 (DNY
faculty Office). Please ask for the door code. Please use
the available University technology such as Blackboard and St.
John’s Central to post course outlines and class handouts to limit
the quantity of printing.**
Space is available in St. John Hall room (B3) and room139 in
Bent Hall for adjunct faculty. The room includes computer printing
stations, phones, and desk space to use.
