Discover New York Education Policy and Curriculum Task Force. Prof.
Paravazian has a strong commitment to international education as a
way of creating opportunities for students in the global economy.
She has been taking students to France with St. John’s Summer
Program since 2000.
Service to the Community
She is active in the promotion of language education and serves on
a number of boards, including the Metropolitan Chapter of the
American Association of Teachers of French and the Société des
Professeurs Français et Francophones d’Amérique, a foundation which
awards grants to American students wishing to study in France and
Quebec.
She has been at the United Nations since 2000. As the Main
Representative of the Armenian Assembly of America until 2006, she
was active on a number of non-governmental committees, including
the NGO Committee on Human Rights, the Committee on the Status of
Women, Sustainable Development and Education; she was on the
executive boards of the Committee on the Status of Women and the
Committee on Education. She is currently a United Nations
Representative of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl
Scouts.
