Jennifer Newsom serves as Associate Director of the University Freshman Center.

Jennifer’s major areas of responsibility include advisement, advisor training and the administration of the faculty early alert system. She is also responsible for the management of several advisors, graduate assistants and student workers.    

Jennifer began working for the Freshman Center in September of 2003 as an Assistant Director. In this capacity, she served as an academic advisor for students enrolled in the College of Professional Studies. Jennifer earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and her Master of Science in Student Development Practice in Higher Education from St. John’s University.

She has been a member of the St. John’s Community for 11 years and began her career at the University’s Law School. Jennifer also worked as a Planning Assistant in the Office of Institutional Planning at St. John’s University.

Jennifer is currently pursuing a doctorate in Modern World History.
