Melissa S. Mirabella serves as Associate Director of Transfer
Student Services.
Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Hunter
College in New York City. She was introduced to the field of higher
education and student development early in her career and loved it
so much she enrolled in a graduate program here at St. John’s
University. Melissa earned a Master’s degree in Student Development
Practice in Higher Education at St. John’s University.
Prior to working with transfer students, Melissa provided academic
support services to freshmen at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and
Technology in Flushing, NY.

Lauren Blank serves as
Assistant Director of Transfer Student Services.
Lauren graduated in 2002 from Syracuse University with a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree in Drama with a minor in Psychology. While
pursuing her undergraduate degree, Lauren became involved in the
Psychology Club where she recognized her strong interest in working
with students.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Lauren enrolled in a
graduate program at Hunter College where she earned her Master of
Science degree in School Counseling. She was employed at School of
the Future, Hunter College High School, and DREAM Charter School
prior to beginning her tenure at the University Freshman Center and
Transfer Student Services.
Lauren has a passion for theater and dance and has been involved in
two non-for-profit organizations, Rosie’s Broadway Kids and
National Dance Institute where she has gone to inner city schools
and taught children about theater and dance.
Lauren joined the St. John’s University community in August 2010
and is thrilled to help students recognize their potential and
realize their dreams.
