PARTNERS Community Coalition building of “Outside PARTNERS,”
establishes partnerships with the diverse communities and community
members of Queens, New York State and beyond.
PARTNERS is currently running three main projects: BRIDGES,
Continuum-of-Care, and CONNECT.
BRIDGES is designed to disseminate information about the rights
and services for co-victims of crime-related deaths in the two
largest immigrant communities of Queens, New York, Latino and
Chinese families. Through the
Continuum-of-Care project PARTNERS has initiated clinical
trials with youth treated in New York State Office of Mental Health
inpatient and day-treatment programs for trauma-related mental
health problems.
CONNECT aims to bring state-of-the-art mental health services
to the families who will not visit a traditional clinic. Services
for CONNECT are currently provided at the Long Island City branch
of the Queens Library, and plans are set to begin treatment in 2012
at the Cambria Heights branch.
