Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Dr. Brown, the Child HELP Partnership’s Executive Director, is a certified trainer in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT; Cohen, Deblinger, & Mannarino, 2006).  TF-CBT is a form that talk therapy that was developed for sexually-abused children and their non-offending caregivers. TF-CBT also has been tested and proven to help children exposed to domestic violence.  In her role as a trainer, Dr. Brown provides didactic learning sessions in the model, as well as ongoing consultation.

The Child HELP Partnership provides TF-CBT trainings multiple times throughout the year.  The two-day didactic trainings are held on the St. John’s University campuses in Queens and Manhattan.  The cost of the training is $300.  Space is limited; thus, pre-registration is required.
