Eligibility for PARTNERS Clinic

PARTNERS Clinic serves youth ages 4-17 who have experienced a traumatic event, such as:

  • excessive physical discipline
  • sexual abuse
  • death of a loved one due to violence
  • witnessed domestic violence. 

 

Our Clinic is designed to specifically work with youth – traumatized preschoolers, children, and adolescents – who are experiencing the following emotional or behavioral problems:

  • Depression (sad mood, loss of interest in things he/she used to enjoy)
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (intrusive thoughts of abuse, nightmares, avoiding cues)
  • General anxiety (stomach aches, headaches, rapid or loud heartbeat, sweating)
  • Separation anxiety (unwillingness to leave parents, teachers, etc.)
  • Sleep difficulties (bed wetting)
  • Aggressive behavior
  • Oppositional behavior (with parents, teachers, etc.)
  • Trouble managing anger
  • Difficulty paying attention
  • Difficulty getting along with other children
  • Difficulty completing school assignments
