Empowering Multicultural Communities

E: Empowering multicultural communities by adapting mental health services for them.

The Child HELPPartnership has worked with our community collaborators and national experts to break down the traditional walls of our clinic to overcome the barriers to mental health services. Child HELP has developed engagement and retention procedures to overcome the barriers of working with economically-disadvantaged, racially/ethnically diverse, traumatized youth and caregivers. Past and recent projects have explored the benefits of organizing community-led awareness campaigns and providing services in spaces trusted by community members. In addition, Child HELP team members have also held workshops and presentations regarding issues related to child violence and trauma to thousands of service professionals and caregivers in Queens.
