Eyal Shemesh, M.D.

Dr. Eyal Shemesh is chief of the Division of Behavioral and Developmental Health at the Department of Pediatrics and the Kravis Children's Hospital, at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. Dr. Shemesh conducts research in the interface between psychiatric and medical disorders, with nonadherence as the important outcome, in two principal patient groups: children who had a solid organ transplant, and adults who had a myocardial infarction.

Dr. Shemesh has won several awards for his work, including the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's "Presidential Scholar" award, and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine's Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport award for clinical research.  Dr. Shemesh authored peer-reviewed manuscripts, reviews, and book chapters exploring nonadherence to medications and the relationship between life threatening health problems and PTSD.
