Provide State-of-the-Art Clinical Services

PARTNERS incorporates Best Practices for mental health in a model that recognizes individual differences and the importance of the family in children’s development. To help foster healthy development in children, clinicians must first understand the child’s experiences and current functioning.  Families participate in screenings and more comprehensive evaluations to learn about their histories of emotional stress and trauma, and associated feelings, thoughts, and misbehavior.   PARTNERS therapists then use the information obtained during assessments to help give children ways to cope with feelings and thoughts related to stress and trauma. Therapists also work with caregivers to help them develop ways to decrease their stress and increase their ability to gain their children’s cooperation.

PARTNERS provides cognitive behavioral therapy in an ecological framework; the PARTNERS team collaborates with other childcare agencies, including schools, foster care agencies, and legal aide.  Evaluations are repeated during and after concluding therapy to ensure that children and caregivers have benefited from the services.  Services are provided in multiple languages, including Spanish, French, Hindi and Urdu.  Weekday evenings and Saturdays are available.  Snacks and childcare are provided.
