Dr. Miller’s  (formerly Thompson) research and clinical interests include distortion product otoacoustic emissions and reflectance measurements, which are objective and non-invasive tests useful for the detection and diagnosis of hearing loss in difficult to test populations.  Since arriving at St. John's University, her research has been translated into "real world" settings. For example, she recently examined the prevalence of middle ear pathologies, which create mild hearing losses, in elementary school children from high-needs schools.  Dr. Miller is a New York State licensed Audiologist and holds membership in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
