Simon Pack, Ph.D. Pack, an assistant professor in the Division of Sport Management, holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University; an M.S. in Sport Administration from NC–Chapel Hill; a B.A. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism from the University of Florida.
Pack served as an assistant professor in the Sport Management program at the University of Louisville from 2005–2008. Prior to that, he served in various roles for organizations in the fields of sport marketing, sponsorships, event management, collegiate athletic administration, and student athlete support services. From 2008 to 2014, he took a post in the Middle East developing sport programs with various Olympic and non-Olympic sport governing bodies. He also managed sport facilities for municipal governments and conducted logistical operations for major sport events. Upon returning to the New York City metropolitan area in 2014, Pack established a nonprofit organization to continue his work supporting diversity, underserved, and disabled populations. His research interests include organizational behavior, human resource management, the psychosocial aspects of sport, and using sport as a tool for development.
