Sandra Beysolow

Dr. Sandra Beysolow is an associate professor-industry professional who brings over thirty years of experience as a physician assistant to St. John’s University. Her clinical career spans 18 years of general surgery practice and work experience in critical care, trauma, primary care, pediatrics, and occupational health. Dr. Beysolow earned her initial NCCPA profession certification in 1983 and has consistently maintained her certification through successful completion of 5 recertification examinations with her most recent examination in September 2012. She is qualified as certified by examination in the Physician Assistant profession until 2019. In January 2014 she was awarded Distinguished Fellow status (DFAAPA) by the American Academy of Physician Assistants “for exemplary achievement in service to the physician assistant profession, in advancement of health care for all people, and in dedication to the community.” Dr. Beysolow’s teaching experience spans over 20 years where her responsibilities as supervisor of the surgical physician assistant team at St. Mary’s Hospital, a division of the Catholic Medical Center allowed her to serve both as a clinical preceptor and mentor for physician assistant students and surgical residents. Prior to joining St. John’s University in March 2007, she taught as adjunct faculty at the Catholic Medical Center Physician Assistant education from 1998 – 2004. In 2004 she joined the St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center Physician Assistant education program as full-time faculty until the program’s acquisition by St. John’s University in 2007. Dr. Beysolow is an active member of both the New York State Society of Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
