Richardo I. Kilpatrick specializes in all aspects of Creditor’s Rights including Insolvency, Corporate, Consumer and Commercial Litigation, Real Property Remedies for Creditors, Real Property Transactions, and General Corporate Counseling.
Mr. Kilpatrick was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Bankruptcy, March 1999; appointed a member of the National Bankruptcy Archives Committee in July 2001; and was President of the American Bankruptcy Institute from April 2001 to April 2002. Other committees and/or prior positions held at the American Bankruptcy Institute include Vice-President of Membership Relations, Board of Directors, Executive and Management Committees, Bankruptcy Reorganization Committee, Board Bylaws Committee, Research and Education Committee, Vice-Chair, Membership Committee, and Contributing Editor of the ABI Journal “Toxins-Are-Us”.

Kilpatrick spoke at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in 1989, 1995, 1997 – 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2009 - 2011. He is a presenter at numerous seminars focusing on bankruptcy and collections given by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education; the Norton Litigation Institute (1992-present); Editor for Norton’s Treatise on Bankruptcy; PESI and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Kilpatrick frequently publishes articles on Consumer and Commercial Bankruptcy. In October of 2008, Mr. Kilpatrick became a Conferee to the National Bankruptcy Conference and has served as a member of the Judicial Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules since August 2011.
Kilpatrick teaches Small Business Bankruptcy with Professor Elsaesser.
