Judge Shannon is a United States Bankruptcy Judge serving in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Prior to going on the bench, Judge Shannon was a partner with Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP in Wilmington, Delaware, where he specialized in representing large, publicly-held corporate debtors and creditors committees in Chapter 11 cases.
Judge Shannon’s current docket in Delaware includes many Chapter 11 cases, and he also handles approximately 75% of all consumer bankruptcy cases filed in Delaware. More specifically, Judge Shannon is responsible for all of the Chapter 13 cases filed in Delaware and for half of the Chapter 7 consumer liquidation cases.
Judge Shannon received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and obtained his law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. He is a member of the Delaware, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, The American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Rodney Inns of Court.
Judge Shannon teaches Bankruptcy Sales and Executory Contracts in Business Bankruptcy Cases with Judge Walrath.
