Daniel D. Chu is an attorney engaged in private practice in midtown Manhattan representing clients in state and federal matters with a focus on criminal defense and sports/entertainment law.  A Queens native, he began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted felony cases and handled appellate litigation. Mr. Chu also served as an Administrative Law Judge with the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission and later became a senior associate at Stern & Montana, LLP, where he conducted civil RICO litigation relating to systemic insurance fraud. Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed him a Commissioner and later Chair of the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board, the city agency tasked with investigating allegations of police misconduct.  He presently serves as a member of the First Department Disciplinary Committee.

He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Asian American Bar Association of New York and the Queens County Bar Association. Mr. Chu is the 2012 recipient of the Thomas H. Lee Award and  2013-14 recipient of the Dean’s Adjunct Teaching Award.
