Annette Hofmann is Assistant Professor of Risk Management and Insurance in the School of Risk Management, Tobin College of Business, at St. John’s University. Before joining St. John's, Annette was the director of the risk management and insurance program at Hamburg School of Business Administration. She previously received her Ph.D. and State Doctorate (German Habilitation) from the University of Hamburg in Germany. In 2011, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Annette has published in the Journal of Risk and Insurance, the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, the Geneva Risk and Insurance Review, the Journal of Insurance Issues, Economics Letters, and the European Journal of Health Economics. She regularly presents research at academic conferences and is a member of the American Risk and Insurance Association as well as the Risk Theory Society.

Research Interests

Among others, Annettes research focus is on risk and insurance economics, decision-making under risk, prevention, health insurance, and health economics.
