Vincentians in seminary formation live and study throughout the
USA, in places such as Oyster Bay, NY, Chicago, IL, and Oxnard, CA.
They live with Vincentian priest formation directors, attend a
nearby college or seminary, engage in weekly ministry at a local
hospital, parish, or school, pray, work and share common house
tasks, and grow together as brothers in the Lord. Their spiritual
formation is enhanced by regular spiritual direction, as well as by
regular group theological reflection to deepen their understanding
of how to live out Vincentian spirituality.
Whether in New York, Chicago, or California, the goals of
Vincentian seminary formation are the same: to form priests and
brothers who see the person of Jesus Christ in serving the poor,
and to create a community life that will guide them to, in the
words of St. Vincent, ‘live always in the manner of dear
friends.
