Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent De Paul is an international organization founded by Blsessed Frederick Ozanam in order to serve the poor in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul.  St. John’s University is proud to have a youth chapter that is student run and organized.  They organize various service projects throughout the year but also come together to foster their friendships and grow in their spirituality through regular reflection meetings.  All are welcome to join!

Habitat for Humanity    

Habitat for Humanity is an international non-profit organization that seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat seeks to build lives as well as houses.  Our St. John’s Chapter not only participates in build days but also organizes advocacy events on campus to raise awareness about affordable housing and poverty here in NYC and around the world.  Join them in their efforts!

Students for Global Justice       

Become involved and join the Students for Global Justice whose purpose and mission is to bring awareness of the ongoing struggles associated with social injustice along with creating opportunities on the St. John’s University campus to serve those most in need both domestically and internationally.  Participate in events during Hunger Awareness Month, such as the Pig Out for Poverty and A Night in Solidarity.  Other events during Peace Week, such as a visit to the United Nations, Free Hug Campaign, High Heel A Thon, and much more!

 Team RV

Team RV (Resident Village) is a student-run organization that provides service opportunities for resident students.  Students participate in various service projects each Saturday throughout the year.  They serve those in need in our community, such as the homeless, young children, and the elderly. Team RV also connects resident students to the programs and activities within the larger Campus Ministry community.

 Sinai’s Radiant Praise Dance Ministry 

This special ministry offers students the opportunity to worship and pray through dance. As a student-run organization which seeks to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, this dance ministry is called to offer a unique form of prayer at University-wide prayer services, youth organizations/charity events for Christian churches, as well as, hosting a Gospel café each semester where all are welcome to praise and worship God through written word, dance or song. For more information, contact Angela Seegel at 718-990-2680
