Staten Island

Lent is 40 days of preparation for the celebration of Easter. In this time, the Church asks us to pray, fast and to help the poor in an effort to renew our lives.  Christ says to “Walk with me”, in many ways in the scripture. “Walk with Jesus” as you look at your relationship with the Lord and prepare to celebrate His resurrection at Easter.

There are many familiar events on the Lenten Calendar for the Staten Island Campus, our Mass schedule, various service opportunities, our annual Walk for the Homeless, student-led “Dirty Foreheads and No Chocolate!”, to name a few. Along with these, we invite you to join us for new initiatives, e.g. “God’s Text Message”, the Gospel Extravaganza and “Take Six”.  To learn more about these and other programs, click on the links provided.

Book of Prayer Located in the Chapel
You are invited to list the names of family, relatives and friends for whom you wish to pray during Lent. Remembering someone who died or praying for someone who is sick or dealing with a difficult time in their lives is an important part of our faith.  The intentions are remembered at the weekday and Sunday Masses.
