The Difference is Respect, the University
is Vincentian
Founder's Week: January 21 - 26,
1996
“Let us cherish the poor as our masters, since Our Lord is in
them and they are in Our Lord.” –St. Vincent de Paul
Charity is not the only quality that begins at "home" -- so does
respect. Respecting others is a vital part of the Vincentian
Mission, one that we can all practice every day. The
University core value of "respect" calls us to awareness of and
esteem for all individuals. St. Vincent reminds us that it is
by respecting and knowing the poor, weak and oppressed of our
communities; we will deepen our relationship with God.
This year's Founder's Week celebration explores the many ways
that respect is practiced in our University community -- and beyond
our campus gates.
