Founder's Week 1997

Service: Hearts that Care…Hands that Help
Founder's Week - January 25 - February 2, 1997

“Let us love God, but let it be with the strength of our arms and the sweat of our brow.”  --St. Vincent de Paul

The Gospels tell us that it is not enough to merely wish others well -- we must work to help make others well. Through service, St. Vincent de Paul, known during his life as the “Father of the Poor,” and declared the “patron of all charitable endeavors” by the Church, showed every Christian that love is best expressed through deeds.

Vincentian Service is the theme of our 1997 Founder's Week events. Through lectures, presentations, seminars, discussions, the entire University community explore the ways that we can help change lives by following Vincent's example.
