Founder’s Week 2012
September 23 – 29

Be Vincentian: Faith-filled Citizens
“Pray always that God will unite hearts.”  – St. Vincent de Paul

As Americans we are challenged to enter into this “political season” as persons of faith. As followers of St. Vincent de Paul, we seek the common good for all and especially for persons who live in poverty or under oppression. For St. Vincent, a man of great faith and “father of the poor”, faith provided a truth: that every person is endowed with human dignity and every person and institution has the responsibility to create the conditions in society that allow human dignity to flourish. St. Vincent's efforts offer a practical approach to living the truth about human dignity. May we be inspired and strengthened by Founder’s Week 2012 theme “Be Vincentian: Faith-filled Citizens” and exercise civic responsibilities and practice the virtues of faith and solidarity.
