Robert R. Tomes, Associate Professor of History at St. John’s
College of Professional Studies, is a Vincentian Research Fellow.
His research interests are the social and moral costs of war in the
American experience and political activism in youth. Professor
Tomes recently completed a research tour of Vietnam. He holds a
Ph.D. in History from New York University. He is the author of
Apocalypse Then: American Intellectuals and the Vietnam War and is
coauthor of an American history textbook now in its 5th edition,
American Issues.
