Miguel Ramírez, a human rights specialist, has been recognized
several times for his commitment to his work and his community. He
is co-founder and President of Centro Hispano “Cuzcatlán”—an
organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of the
Central and South American community in Jamaica, Queens. CHC
organizes and educates neighborhood residents about their rights
related to housing, immigration, health, employment and
environmental issues. Mr. Ramirez has also served as President of
the New York Immigration Coalition.
