A Panel of Interdisciplinary Faculty will:

  • Highlight the issue of poverty in America within the context of the 2012 Presidential election
  • Examine specific proposals in the Republican and Democratic Platform to identify how these proposals can be predicted to alleviate or exacerbate poverty
  • Explore the relationship of the middle class and persons who are poor in the political sphere
  • Encourage voter participation in the 2012 Presidential election
