Norm Roberts became the 18th Head Coach in St. John’s men’s basketball history. Prior to joining St. John’s, Roberts was an Assistant Coach at Kansas. One of the top recruiters in the country, Coach Roberts' primary duties at Kansas were recruiting and scouting, as well as perimeter player development. Roberts spent four years as Head Coach at his alma mater, Queens College, and four years as the Freshman Coach at Archbishop Molloy High School in New York, where he coached current NBA point guard Kenny Anderson.

The women’s team clinched a Big East Tournament appearance for the first time in three years.
