IEW Brings Manhattan Campus Students from Around the Globe
Together
Students at the Manhattan campus shared their global experiences in
weeklong events for International Education Week. Over 30 students
and teachers from The Language Connection and the Center for
Professional Education posted their global experiences on the “Wall
of Impressions” in the atrium. During the celebration, passersby
could be seen reading and commenting on the postings on the “Wall.”
A panel discussion was also held in which students Alhanouf
Altaimani and Yijie Mei from The Language Connection, along with
graduate assistant Shari Elcock and resident assistant Dylan Orr,
shared their experiences about “unexpected friendships” with people
from other cultures and how it had changed their perceptions. The
discussion was followed by a showing of “Promises,” a documentary
about friendships between Palestinian and Israeli children.
