St. John’s
star and NBA Hall of Famer Chris Mullin, Justin Burrell (St.
John’s, Golden State Warriors [NBA Summer League]), Paris Horne
(St. John’s, Charlotte Bobcats [NBA Summer League]) and other elite
basketball players from New York have agreed to star in the Malone
Mulhall Benefit Basketball Game to be held July 28 to honor the
loss of three young adults, Michael Mulhall, Jamie Malone and Paige
Malone, who were killed in an automobile accident on Long Island in
2010. Mullin will join Danny Green, current San Antonio Spurs and
former University of North Carolina and St. Mary’s High School
(Manhasset, NY) star as celebrity coaches.
The young adults were on their way to work at Camp ANCHOR, a
recreational summer camp for mentally and physically handicapped
individuals of all ages on Long Island, when their daily commute
turned fatal.
The Malone Mulhall Benefit Game has been established in an
effort to do charitable work in memory of these three close
friends, by providing an all-star basketball exhibition at Adelphi
University on July 28, 2012 at 1 PM. All proceeds will go to the
Jamie and Paige Malone Foundation and the Michael Mulhall Memorial
Scholarship.
Tickets to the game are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10
and under each and available for purchase online at www.mmbenefitgame.com. All
children are encouraged to participate in the autograph sessions
with the players and coaches after the game.
