St. John's to Host Spanish Honor Society Induction

Event Held in Conjunction with Epsilon Kappa, St. John’s
Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi and Department of Languages &
Literatures on April 23 at Queens Campus
Epsilon Kappa, Sigma Delta Pi and the Department of Languages
and Literatures at St. John's University hosts the Spanish Honor
Society Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, April 23 at the school’s
Queens Campus. The event, to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Bent Hall, will
also launch the 14th Issue of Entre Rascacielos magazine (the
literary journal of Epsilon Kappa). The event is being billed as a
celebration of academic achievement, reading, dancing, music, food
and drink.
Dr. Marie-Lise Gazarian, Professor of Languages &
Literatures at St. John’s University and Coordinator of the
Graduate Program in Spanish, will open the ceremony with a brief
welcome and interview with Eduardo Mitre, renowned poet and
Professor of Spanish at St. John’s, who will engage the crowd with
his words of wisdom.
Entertainment for the evening will include a tango demonstration
presented by Ninah Beliavsky and Daniel Raphael, and musical
performances by Johnny Arenillas, Katelyn Barker, Theodore Lemle,
Marvin Navarro and Vivian Vescovacci-Ríos will highlight the
evening program. A buffet will be provided to conclude the
night of enjoyment.
