Wow. That’s the best way I could summarize my experience
here in Bermuda. I really had no idea what life in Bermuda
was like and over the past two weeks have learned more than I had
ever imagined. Looking back over everything I believe my
favorite part would have to be absolutely everything. I
particularly enjoyed interacting with the kids, learning about the
incinerator, and attending the parade but I honestly think that
everything that we did was wonderful. Our last tour with
Connie Dey was the best tour that we had. She was so
enthusiastic and hysterical. I hope she will be asked to
participate next year!
I’m very happy that for our executive summary we were able to focus
on the prospect of Bermuda College becoming a four-year
institution. It’s an incredibly important issue that I am
glad to hear is being considered. If I had not worked on the
college dilemma I would have wanted worked on the problem with
sidewalks and public transportation. I still feel that this
is a large problem on the island. There need to be more
sidewalks, more buses, and a more reliable public transit system
(we waited a half hour for the bus one afternoon).
I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to “Discover
Bermuda.” I have learned more things than I ever
expected. I feel like I will definitely be able to apply many
of the things I learned to my studies and to whatever my future has
in store. I met awesome people, did thing I’ve never done
before, and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Bermuda. This
experience has been out of this world and I am really looking
forward to taking part in more study abroad programs.
