2005, Queens, NY-- The St. John’s men’s and women’s basketball teams
take the Food Network by Storm this weekend appearing on world
renowned chef Emeril Lagasse’s “Emeril Live” Show. The show debuted
Sunday, February 27 at 8 p.m. and Midnight EST.
Head coaches
Norm Roberts and
Kim Barnes Arico appeared in taped vignettes included in the
show, and the women’s team was live on the set with Emeril’s
studio audience to “kick it up a notch” for his annual Basketball
Madness Show.
Emeril’s menu to
tip-off any Basketball Madness party consisted of smoked sausage,
white bean soup, chicken chimichangas with chipotle salsa, Emeril’s
Ultimate Hot Dog Bar and Candy Bar Brownie Sundaes.
“We had a great
time filming the show and we hope it will bring us a little luck as
we head into the BIG EAST Tournament,” said St. John’s women’s
basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico, whose team got off to its best
start in school history with 11 straight wins to begin the season.
“Emeril and his staff were very accommodating and the team really
enjoyed the experience.”
In addition,
members of the St. John’s band, cheerleaders, dance team,
administrators and coaches also added to the festive “Emeril Live”
taping.

The Food Network
will rebroadcast the show on Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. and
Midnight EST.
