With the help of National Grid, St. John’s University has taken
bold steps to reduce its overall CO2 emissions. The adoption of
hosted software, the Web-based Building Dashboard®, in the six
dormitories that comprise the University’s Residence Village on the
Queens campus will now allow those buildings’ residents to monitor
their energy consumption in real-time on the Web. According to
Lucid Design Group, the software’s creator, the intuitive Building
Dashboard® user interface provides “real-time feedback that can be
used to reduce electricity consumption by 10-50 percent.”
The University thanks National Grid for becoming a member of the
Corporate Social Responsibility Council.
