Kaplan has partnered with St. John’s University on a variety of
services and programs, including the Career Center, the Clothesline
Project and Discover the World.
Their support for the Career Center helps students and alumni
acquire the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to function
successfully within a global economy. The Career Center offers
programs and services that create opportunities for students,
alumni, faculty and employers to engage in mutually beneficial
partnerships that meet the needs of an evolving workforce.
Kaplan also works with St. John’s to support the Clothesline
Project, a national program to address the issue of violence
against women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to
express their emotions by decorating a shirt that they then hang on
a clothesline to be viewed by others as testament to the problem of
violence against women.
Embracing the University’s commitment to globalization, Kaplan
supports Discover the World, a semester-long, 15-credit innovative
multi-country study abroad experience that makes it possible for
students to live and learn in as many as three international cities
in just one semester. This pioneering concept is structured to
enable participants to spend five weeks immersing themselves in the
language and culture of each country. Consistent with St. John’s
mission, Discover the World is making service a cornerstone of this
program by incorporating service opportunities into every
site.
The University thanks Kaplan for becoming a member of the Corporate
Social Responsibility Council.
