Corporate Social Responsibility Council

The Corporate Social Responsibility Council of St. John’s University is a distinguished group of corporate stakeholders who are dedicated to addressing the educational, environmental and social needs of the community they serve. The Council includes corporations that are committed to corporate philanthropy and understand that it is changing due to a variety of economic and social challenges that impact nearly every section of our society. These corporations also recognize the opportunity and importance of aligning with a nationally recognized, values-oriented University that has been responding to community needs since 1870.

Membership in the Corporate Social Responsibility Council is mutually beneficial for both the University and the corporate member. The University benefits by obtaining corporate donations that are used to support student scholarships, environmental sustainability initiatives and volunteer service and community engagement programs. In addition, it is helpful in developing advocates within the business community to support St. John’s programs and initiatives, thereby fostering the University’s unique Vincentian mission of caring and concern for others.

Corporate members also benefit in a variety of ways. They receive special invitations to a number of St. John’s events and networking receptions and as well as acknowledgement on all appropriate promotional materials, including publications, invitations, signage and the University Web site. They also benefit from their status as a recognized corporate citizen associated with a global, metropolitan university.
