Jones was the featured pro athlete appearing at the Offense –
Defense Sport sleepover camp (July 5 – July 9) advertised as the
country’s largest full-contact youth football camp in the country
for the last 38 years.
The camp seeks to educate students in the four C’s of football:
coaching, curriculum, contact, and commitment. With on-site
instructional aide from professional football players and coaches,
such as Thomas Jones of the NY Jets and Dave Ritchie from the
Canadian Football League, youth are provided with the skills needed
to succeed on and off the field.
St. John’s Lacrosse Field served as the venue for the camp and the
University’s residence village and dining facility catered to more
than 250 overnight and day campers ages 8 – 18 who spent four
nights experiencing college life at the Queens facility.
The University’s Office of
Conference Services rents field space, classrooms and event
facilities to outside groups, not only during the summer months but
all throughout the calendar year, at St. John’s Queens, Manhattan,
Staten Island and Oakdale locations.
To inquire about rental opportunities call the University’s Office
of Conference Services at (718) 990-7300 or e-mail the department
