Thomas Hackimer became the first reliever to earn BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year honors since 2005
Sharing Knowledge presented by St. John’s University will feature a 30 minute interview with current head men’s basketball coach Chris Mullin this evening (May 26 at 10:30 p.m.) on the Telecare Catholic Television Network. The Mullin interview will run each Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) and Thursday (at the time indicated above) for the next three weeks (through June 9). The host of the show is St. John’s University President, Conrado “Bobby” Gempesaw, Ph.D.
St. John’s Law offers students a wide range of opportunities to build essential lawyering skills hands on. Among them are the co-curricular Moot Court Honor Society and Frank S. Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute (PTAI), where students learn appellate and trial advocacy, respectively, in competitions at the Law School and across the country.
The sky may have been gray and overcast, but the uncertain weather did not diminish the joyful atmosphere pervading the Great Lawn as nearly 1,800 undergraduate degrees were conferred during the Commencement Exercises for St. John’s University’s 146th academic year held on May 22 on the Queens campus. On May 21, more than 150 students received their undergraduate degrees at Commencement Exercises held on the Staten Island campus.

Conrado Gempesaw, Ph.D., St. John’s University President, and Dr. Thomas P. Dolan, Interim President of Nassau Community College (NCC), officially signed an Articulation Agreement between the two schools yesterday in Queens to broaden their academic partnership.
A growing number of organizations are incorporating behavioral assessments as part of their hiring and employee development processes. In 2012, Assistant Professor Dr. David P. Hedlund began administering DISC behavioral assessments to students in his sport management classes at St. John’s University. The program has since been expanded and the MPS in Sport Management program at SJU is one of the first to use DISC assessments with all of its students.
Supported by a $944,138 federal grant, a professor in St. John’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has launched a public health initiative to train nearly 1,200 students in the College to identify and educate patients at risk for substance use disorders.
The scholar, LuMing Mao, Ph.D., is the 2016 Peter P. and Margaret A. D’Angelo Endowed Chair in the Humanities.
