St. John’s has announced that it has received two distinguished awards for the outstanding resources it provides to Veterans.
Members of the St. John’s University community, including Johnny Thunderbird, were on hand manning water stations and encouraging runners, including members of the St. John’s University Student Veterans Association.

St. John’s University is proud to announce that it will be a part of the inaugural “Suffolk County Marathon and Half Marathon to Support Our Veterans,” a race event to support veterans services and organizations scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2015.
St. John’s has a deep and longstanding commitment to the success of its student veterans on campus.
Following the recent dedication of the University’s Veterans Success Center, St. John’s has announced that its Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Center, which supplies free virtual tax preparation services for low-income New Yorkers, has extended its services to allow qualifying veterans to have their taxes prepared in person by on-campus volunteers.
To better address the needs of those who have served in the nation’s military, St. John’s University has opened a Veterans Success Center to provide tutoring, career advisement, and other services for student veterans.
