Members of The McCallen Society gathered at the Queens campus on Wednesday, September 13, for an annual celebration that recognizes the exceptional generosity of alumni who provide St. John’s University with the resources to serve future generations of students.
Approximately 40 McCallen members, students, and alumni enjoyed the much-anticipated musi-cal, which is directed by Robert De Niro and written by Chazz Palminteri—who appeared to-gether in the original movie.
This was the final event of the academic year organized by the Office of Gift Planning. Before the show, McCallen members gathered at nearby Gabriel's Bar and Restaurant, and Susan M. Damiani ’87CBA, Director of the Office of Gift Planning and The McCallen Society, thanked the group for their loyalty.
If you can’t actually be in Paris, the next best thing is to be there in spirit and that’s what St. John’s University’s Division of Student Affairs and The McCallen Society offered a sampling of Parisian life on Wednesday, April 26, with an “Evening in Paris.”
A dynamic afternoon of art appreciation, blended with spirited socializing among students, facul-ty, alumni, and members of The McCallen and Loughlin Societies, highlighted the annual Stu-dent Thesis Exhibition on Saturday, April 22.
The Florida Alumni Events tour, which spanned both coasts of Florida February 23 to March 12, gave alumni an opportunity to create new memories and recall their days at St. John’s University.

Crisp evening air, holiday lights, and smiles galore combined with the fantastic sounds of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, putting members of The McCallen Society and other St. John's students and alumni in the Christmas spirit at the Time Warner Center on December 17.
The McCallen Society members joined with host Conrado “Bobby” Gempesaw, Ph.D., President of St. John’s University, and celebrant Rev. John A. Kettelberger, C.M., at the society’s Annual Recognition Mass and Luncheon on October 11.
