Study Visit to China: Graduate Students of International Communication Exploring Cities in Global Economy

February 22, 2017

During the 2017 winter intersession, a group of master's students of the International Communication program explored Beijing and the Island of Hainan on their study visit to China. The main focus of this winter intersession course taught abroad by Prof. Basilio Monteiro was laid on "Digital Ecology and Mobilization of People: Cities in Global Economy".

During their first week in Beijing, students visited ancient sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Confucius, while also discovering the modern and fast-paced areas of this global city. The group then traveled to the most Southern province of China, Hainan, to take classes at Sanya University, a relatively new partner institution of St. John's University.
