Academic Service Learning Consulting Presentations

December 12, 2016

The Tobin College of Business takes great pride in being able to offer each student the opportunity to participate in two consulting projects over the course of their time on campus.

All sophomore and senior undergraduate students work on real issues being addressed by non-profit organizations and offer research-informed perspectives and innovative solutions to challenges which these organizations face.

In providing a comprehensive business education these research opportunities make Tobin nationally unique with respect to providing  hands-on consulting exposure to each student.

The fall 2016 Academic Service Learning consulting presentations were held in Queens on Saturday, December 3, 2016  with sophomore students presenting their recommendations to representatives of Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, an organization that distributes unused food from a variety of Manhattan eateries to soup kitchens and shelters.

Senior-level students presented their strategic plans to representatives of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and focused on the re-positioning of the organization over the next five years.

“Such is the caliber of presentations that each semester organizations adopt a number of recommendations made by students,” said Niall Hegarty, Ed.D., assistant professor of management.
