ASCP Mark Baldinger Student Leadership Award

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists sponsors the Mark Baldinger Student Leadership Award which recognizes a graduate who has demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to providing care to the geriatric population.

Alfred and Michael Seul Memorial Student Life Award

David Su ‘17Pharm.D.This fund was established in 1999 and amended in 2003 by the Seul Family. This fund is in memory of Michael W. Seul, deceased St. John's University pharmacy student, and his father, alumnus Alfred W. Seul. This fund is to provide partial annual scholarship support for academically qualified students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences who are majoring in pharmacy and demonstrate a significant contribution to student life activities.

Bruce Kay Memorial Award

The Bruce Kay Memorial Scholarship Award is presented to a graduating pharmacy student who has demonstrated excellence in both didactic and clinical coursework and a dedication to institutional pharmacy practice.

This award recognizes a student for their outstanding leadership and communication skills, and his/her interest in community pharmacy practice.

Carl Calcagni Endowed Scholarship

Tyler Valente ‘16Pharm.D.The endowed scholarship was established in memory Carl Ernest Calcagni and awarded to a fifth or sixth year student. He was a first generation college student, was a member of Delta Sigma and in 1963 received his Bachelors in Science in Pharmacy from the college. Over his 38-year tenure, Carl held numerous positions in the Pharmaceutical Industry including working for Purdue Fredrick, Sterling Drug Inc, Bayer Pharmaceuticals and even starting his own regulatory consulting firm.

This endowment served to continue his passion for the profession of pharmacy and to continue impacting the lives of others.

Rachel Abramov ‘17Pharm.D.This fund was established in 1985 by Geraldine Mollo '64E '78MSE in memory of Charles Mollo '39P and Pietas Medal recipient for 1971. This fund is to provide partial annual scholarship and tuition support to a student who has exhibited scholastic achievement within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Dr. Andrew J. Bartilucci Scholarship

Jenny Chin ‘18Pharm.D.This fund was established in 1996 by alumni and friends in honor of former Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Dr. Andrew Bartilucci. This fund is to provide partial annual scholarship support to an academically qualified student who has demonstrated academic achievement, participation in campus activities, as well as a commitment to the promotion of the pharmacy profession.

Mangione, R.Ph., Ed.D. who has dedicated his life's work to the students at St. John's University. This fund is to provide one or more annual partial scholarships to academically qualified and/or deserving students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences pursuing a Pharm.D., currently in their fifth or sixth year of study.

Julia Kamuda ‘17Pharm.D.This fund was established in 1981 by the Warner-Lambert Foundation in memory of E. Burke Giblin, former Chairman of St. John’s University Board of Trustees. This fund provides partial annual scholarship support to academically qualified students within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Harry and Mary Doukas Scholarship

TDimitrios Savva ‘16Pharm.D.he Harry and Mary Doukas Scholarship award was established by Dr. Peter Doukas, ‘63P, a graduate of the College of Pharmacy & AHP and current Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Temple University. The scholarship honors the parents of Dr. Doukas, Harry and Mary, who emigrated from Greece to Brooklyn, NY to raise their family. The award is presented to a qualified and academically deserving fifth or sixth year student, preferably of Greek heritage.

Herbert and Patricia Kett Endowed Scholarship

Lawton Lee ‘16Pharm.D.This fund was established in 1990 and amended in 2010 by alumnus Herbert J. Kett in memory of his wife Patricia. Mr. Kett is a retired Vice Chairman of Genovese Drug Stores. He was awarded an Honorary Degree from St. John's in 1979, as well as the Pietas medal in 1978. This fund is to provide partial annual scholarship support to pharmacy students, especially those students in their fifth or sixth year of study.

Victoria Chirico ‘18Pharm.D.This award was established by the family of Lisa Carrera who passed away while enrolled as a pharmacy student at the college.  The award is presented to a student who is entering their fourth year of study and has a commitment to the University and community service.

Marion and Michael Mangione Award

Frank Gentile ‘16Pharm.D.This fund was established in 2006 by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Mangione in memory of Dr. Mangione’s parents, who provided the necessary means to ensure Dr. Mangione and his brother were able to both attend and graduate from St. John’s University. This fund is to provide one or more annual partial scholarships to academically qualified and/or deserving students majoring in pharmacy in St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

This award is given to a graduating pharmacy student who has excelled in his/her academic studies and demonstrated a strong understanding of the concepts of medicinal chemistry.

Mary Jane Fay Award

Tasnima Nabi ‘16Pharm.D.This fund was established in 2008 by Jeff Martin of Tribal Brands, Inc. This fund was created in dedication and honor of Mary Jane Fay, one of a handful of women to graduate from St. John’s Pharmacy Program in 1956. Mary Jane’s investment in her undergraduate degree was followed by her on-going commitment to continued pharmacy education throughout her career; a passion which she always balanced with her love and commitment to her family. She serves as a role model to all women and men dedicated to education and family. The fund is to provide one or more annual partial scholarships to academically qualified and/or deserving students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences pursuing a Doctorate of Pharmacy, currently in their fifth or sixth year of study.

National Association of Chain Drug Stores Pharmacy Scholarship

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) honors a pharmacy student who is in or has completed his/her third year of study and expresses a desire to work in the community setting for a Chain Drug Store.  The student should have a strong desire to promote community pharmacy practice.

Sarah Tylko ’17Pharm.D.An award is made to a student enrolled in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences who has demonstrated a strong commitment to raising awareness in diversity or playing an active role in educating others about cultural competency and diversity related matters impacting the pharmacy profession.  The award recipient will be a student who embraces diversity, promotes diversity and inclusion initiatives on campus.
