Andrea M. Alonso ‘78C, ‘81L Installed as President of St. John’s School of Law Alumni Association

Andrea M. Alonso, a double alumna of St. John’s University and its School of Law, has been installed as the President of the St. John’s Law Alumni Association. She has been associated with the law firm of Morris Duffy Alonso & Faley since graduating from law school in 1981, was named partner in 1992, and currently serves as managing partner. As reported by the New York Law Journal, her firm is the largest minority/women owned law firm in New York State.

Ms. Alonso specializes in appellate litigation and has argued at the state level in New York’s Appellate Term, Appellate Division, and Court of Appeals, and at the federal level in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Her articles on appellate practice and insurance defense have appeared in the New York Law Journal, the ABA Journal, and the Defense Research Institute Journal, among other notable publications. She is a frequent lecturer on insurance defense topics at insurance companies, bar associations, claims associations, and law schools

In addition to her longtime involvement in the Law School Alumni Association, Ms. Alonso is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Defense Research Institute, the Puerto Rican Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Defense Association of New York.

Ms. Alonso, who is fluent in Spanish, is married to Glenn J. Martin and is the mother of three children.
