St. John's University to Host 8th Biennial Adoption Conference

St. John’s University will host the 8th Biennial Adoption Conference, which will address the connections between social class, power, politics, and privilege in adoption, from May 29-31.

The conference theme highlights both historical and emerging practices in adoption, with a critical eye on considerations of whose privileges have been preserved, are currently being served, and whose interests should be better served.

Industry professionals from the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture at The University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration, MusingsoftheLame.com, All Together Now, First Nations Repatriation Institute, NJCARE, Adoptive Families with Children of African Heritage, and Land of Gazillion Adoptees will participate, along with Montclair State University serving as co-sponsor of the three-day conference.
