Join Campus Ministry and Haraya to Support SJU Sweatshirt Drive

Friday, March 7, 2014

Lenten Season has approached us and one way to be part of it is by giving something to someone.

We invite you to join us in supporting Campus Ministry and Haraya Sweatshirt Drive. All students, faculty, administrators, and staff are invited to participate. All contributions accepted - sweatshirts (all sizes, good condition) along with men’s shoes, t-shirts, and toiletries—throughout March. Student volunteers will distribute donated items as well as meals to homeless individuals and those in need during the University’s weekly Midnight Runs, one of the many service organized by Campus Ministry.

Through this partnership, the two groups aim to broaden their outreach for the drive. “Our mission is a commitment to excellence and service in our community,” said Kareemah Sellers ’15CPS, chair of Haraya’s community service committee. “We want to make sure every individual has proper clothing.”

Please bring Sweatshirt Drive donations to St. Thomas More Church or the Campus Ministry office, Marillac Hall, room 239. To learn more, contact Rafael Rivera 718-990-3354 or email Kareemah Sellars.
