St. John's Hosts NY SunGard SCT Clients' Day

St. John's University hosted the New York SunGard SCT Clients' Day on October 6th at our Manhattan campus. Joe Tufano, St. John's CIO and SGSCT's Jim Tully began the SunGard SCT all-day event with opening remarks and welcomed over 60 representatives from 15 schools and several key personnel from SunGard SCT.

St. John's Director of Applications, Maura Woods, gave a presentation outlining new system functionality built at St. John's that has been integrated with Banner.  Samples of this new functionality include Public Safety systems, Residence Life guest tracking systems, and an Incident/Judicial system just to name a few.  "The SunGard SCT Event was a wonderful opportunity for St. John's to host an event with other schools that use Banner for their administrative systems.  We were able to network with our peers from other schools, and SCT provided us with updates on new issues and the migration to Banner 7,” says Woods.

The event included a panel discussion on the Luminus product, used by St. John's to host St. John Central, and Gary Young, St. John's Manager of Integration Technology was a panelist.  Young states "The discussion of the Luminus product was conducted by a panel of universities in various stages of implementation.  It was a great way to exchange new ideas and best practices in the ways we use the product not only with schools that are currently in production, but also with schools that are in the beginning phases of implementation."

In attendance from St. John's: Joe Tufano, Marius dela Pena, Eileen Flood, Joanne Llerandi, Jorge Rodriguez, Rich Rothel, Reshma Chan, Maura Woods and Gary Young.
