Tobin’s Annual Meet the Mid-Sized Firms Event was a Success

On the evening of Wednesday, September 12, 2012, Tobin’s Department of Accounting and Taxation hosted its annual “Meet the Mid-Sized Firm Night,” which gave hundreds of Tobin students the opportunity to meet with representatives from nine different New York City accounting firms.  The event was held in order to educate accounting majors about the many career opportunities that are provided.

Mr. Andy Cohen, a partner at WeiserMazars LLP, once again served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and chaired a panel of professional representing various firms including: Joseph Petta, Senior, Berdon LLP; Paul A. Balzo, Audit Senior, Holtz Rubenstein Reminick LLP; Warren Ruppel, Partner, Marks Paneth & Shron; Philip Mascia, Real Estate Services, Marks Paneth & Shron; Jo-Ann Rey, Recruiter, Margolin Winer & Evens; Patrick Gillespie, Partner, McGladrey; Robyn Brooks, Talent Acquisition Specialist, McGladrey; B. Nicole Wheeler-Todd, Recruiter, Mitchell & Titus; Herbert Harriott, Director of Human Resources, Mitchell & Titus; Kellen Prince, Manager, Novogradac & Company, LLP; Joshua Gilbert, Senior Manager, Schwartz & Company, LLP; Mark Lundin, Audit Senior, Schwartz & Company, LLP; Wei Xu, Tax Staff Accountant, Schwartz & Company, LLP; Charles V. The partners, managers and staff representing their respective firms discussed their experiences and career paths at their firms and provided insight regarding the work environment, training and student scholarships available as well as the many internship and employment opportunities the firms have to offer.
