Although the team planned for most of the issues that arose, some
things required last-minute improvisation. For example, a number of
logistical details had to be tracked closely. Because of the
process the St. John’s team designed to prepare laptops, it was
critical that backpacks and laptops be delivered to the University
together. However, when the backpacks got stuck in shipping, the
process had to be revised on the fly. Details such as finding
forklifts and loading ramps went well beyond the scope of a typical
IT project.
